Statement from the Multi Stakeholder Forum Swaziland (MSF) on the Assassination of Bheka Magagula
0ctober 13, 2024
The Multi Stakeholder Forum Swaziland (MSF) is deeply saddened by the tragic assassination of Bheka Magagula, a prominent figure in Eswatini’s struggle for democracy. His death is a stark reminder of the escalating violence that has gripped the nation in recent times.
MSF unequivocally condemns those responsible for this heinous act. We believe that such violence is counterproductive and only serves to hinder the progress towards a just and democratic society.
We reaffirm our commitment to the five-point plan, which outlines the key steps necessary to achieve lasting peace and stability in Eswatini. These include:
- The establishment of a genuine national political dialogue
- The unconditional release of all political prisoners
- The return of exiles without fear of persecution
- The drafting of a new, democratic constitution
- The implementation of a multiparty democracy
MSF extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Bheka Magagula. We also stand in solidarity with the people of Eswatini in their pursuit of a brighter future.
It is imperative that we remain steadfast in our commitment to peaceful and democratic means. Only through dialogue, unity and perseverance can we overcome the challenges facing our nation and build a better tomorrow for all.
